In commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of Stonewall Riots that ignited the modern LGBT+ liberation movement, we will be announcing and presenting the “BigLove Hero Award 2019” at the Gala to celebrate and recognize the exceptional dedication and accomplishments of individual(s) or organization(s) in promoting LGBT+ equality in Hong Kong.
2019 is a remarkable year when Taiwan became the first in Asia to recognize same-sex marriage and Hong Kong made judicial headway in advancing same-sex spousal rights. In light of all this hopeful progress, the theme for this year’s Gala is “White Night” – Let’s turn the dark night into a glamorous and big fat white wedding banquet in celebration of marriage equality and the freedom to love!
